Northeast Queens
The same old politics will never make life better for Northeast Queens families. I'm running for City Council because it's time our government stood with us.

Strengthening our Schools

As President of her Community Education Council as well as a member of the Parent Teacher Associations and School Leadership Teams, and as a mother of three school-age children within the NYC Public School System for numerous years, Adriana sees firsthand the challenges our school communities face.

Keeping our Communities Safe

As a 20-year NYPD veteran, Adriana knows what it means to serve and protect our community. That’s why she will work with law enforcement to make sure our communities are safe, every New Yorker’s rights are protected, and invest in Northeast Queens. On the City Council, Adriana will work to make sure police officers have the support and resources they need to serve and protect.

Protecting our Quality of Life

We love our neighborhoods because of the quality of life they provide for us and our families. On the City Council, Adriana will work to make sure the city does its part to keep our parks and streets safe, clean, accessible, and in good repair.

Supporting Small Businesses

The Pandemic has crushed our economy and has closed the door of many of our small businesses. As a result, many families are struggling financially. Adriana will fight to keep our small business open so that not only will these families be able to feed their own, but our communities will be able to thrive.

Serving the Most Vulnerable

As our Council Member, Adriana Aviles will work to make sure our seniors have the necessary services they need to enjoy their quality of life. That means making sure funding for our senior centers are allocated so that they stay open year-round with the necessary resources, in home services are better managed, and transportation is free and accessible.

Creating Transportation Options

Our families deserve well thought out transportation alternatives that are not only safe, but clean for our environment. As our City Council member Adriana will work with the MTA as well as DOT to create safe and sensible alternatives so our neighbors can get around in the way that works best for them and their families.

Controlling Property Taxes

New Yorkers pay a lot in property taxes and we have the right to demand we get our money’s worth. As our City Council Member, Adriana will never support raising taxes just because it’s the easy way out. She will make it her mission to protect taxpayers from an increase while keeping city services all New Yorkers rely on for a stronger city.

Protecting Immigrant Communities

As the child of an immigrant herself, Adriana knows first-hand what it takes for immigrant families to succeed. Family, hard work, education, and the support of the community. Adriana will continue to support these hardworking families so they can be thriving and successful members in our communities.

About Adriana

Democrat Adriana Aviles is a strong voice within her community.

Born to a Colombian immigrant family of 5, Adriana was raised by her mother and sisters.  Adriana’s story is like so many others in our community, her sisters and her mother often worked multiple jobs and needed public assistance to help ends meet so they could feed and house their family. Adriana’s family taught her how to work hard, love her family, and her fellow New Yorkers.

A proud product of the NYC public school system, Adriana Aviles, no stranger to serving her neighbors, has been an essential worker her entire adult life initially at Elmhurst Hospital and finishing her career as an officer with the NYPD.

As an NYPD officer for 20 years, Adriana has protected New Yorkers serving many diverse communities across the city. Adriana is proud to have served and protected this city she loves so much.

A Leader in Her Community
Today, Adriana serves her neighbors as President of District 26 Community Education Council and a member of Community Board 11 where she has been building bridges as an advocate for the priorities of Northeast Queens families to strengthen our educational system and safer communities for all.

Having three young children has given her focus on bringing people together to  protect our environment and leave a cleaner, healthier New York for future generations to enjoy.

Serving Northeast Queens
Adriana isn’t running for City Council because she’s a career politician who sees this as a stepping stone to higher office, she is running to make sure that every resident, no matter where they live or what they look like, is respected and heard. On the City Council, Adriana will be a bridge between city agencies and our communities, because we are always stronger when we work together.

As our Councilmember, Adriana will fight to protect the most vulnerable members of our community and the local businesses that keep our neighborhoods vibrant and our economy strong.

On the City Council, Adriana will fight to make sure Queens gets the respect we deserve, our families are safe, our children receive the education they need for the future they deserve, seniors and immigrants are protected as well as making sure every voice is heard.

Adriana, her husband, and their three children are proud to call Northeast Queens their home.
